This training course is for existing WinLims users only and deals specifically with the use of Crystal Reports as it pertains to WinLims. It is not a general-purpose Crystal Reports training course.

Summary

This course, presented by QSI (UK) Ltd, is aimed at existing users of Crystal Reports who are already able to create straightforward reports and modify existing reports, but who wish to expand upon their knowledge and be able to produce more sophisticated ones.

The training takes place over two days, during which time the attendees will revise and expand upon the fundamentals of Crystal Reports creation and will learn more advanced techniques.

• Resetting the default options for the Crystal Reports Designer software
• Using advanced Grouping functionality

• Use of the Section Expert, including formatting with multiple columns
• Reports with multiple tables and the basics of table linking
• Working with formulas
  • Using Variables
  • Report and Group Selection formulas
  • Custom Functions
• Exporting Report data
• Using Subreports
  • Linking otherwise unlinkable data
  • Allowing multiple layouts in a single report
• Using the Crystal Reports Workbench to organise your reports into projects
• Embedding OLE Objects into reports
• Changing the report's datasource location
• Using Alerts to identify important values in your data.
• An overview of Business Objects and using the B.O. Repository (If the majority of course attendees have also purchased the Business Objects software)
• If time permits, and course attendees have brought examples of their current reports, specific reporting issues will be explored.
