Summary
This course, presented by QSI (UK) Ltd, is aimed at both new users of WinLims and those who are System Administrators for WinLims. Administrators are responsible for setting up the initial data in the system and for creating WinLims users.
The training takes place over one day. The course attendees will look at setting up the test methods and specifications which will be subsequently used for logging in samples and entering results against. This data is critical to how the entire WinLims system will be run and so it is extremely important that considered choices are made and the effects of the various options available are understood before committing to those choices.
After completing the course, the users will have gained an understanding of the functioning of the applications used for setting up the WinLims system and the choices available them. They will therefore be able to take this information forwards and formulate a business plan for the use of WinLims.
Course Content
- Creating WinLims Users using the Staff Manager and assigning appropriate user privileges to them
- Setting up the test method records using the Methods Manager
- Defining test suites and specifications using the Sample Type Manager, including defining testing limits
- Creating Customer records and defining Customer Specifications
- Using the Project Manager to group work into categories
- Instrument Calibration — setting up scheduled events for calibration, testing and maintenance of instruments
- Populating standard data, including Units and Look-ups
- Sample Overview
- Using LIMS Events to automatically generate emailed reports, triggered by WinLims events
- Screen Design
- Using Multilab to separate WinLims data into discreet functional groups
- Using Documents Manager to add Crystal Reports to WinLims , that can be launched from within different applications
- Using the Training Module
- Complaints and Corrective Actions
